How to Plan A Romantic Spa Evening
Valentine’s Day is coming up! Nothing says romance like an evening in the hot tub with your significant other. If you have a spa in your backyard or you are going to a romantic getaway with one, here are 6 tips to help you make your evening more amorous.
There is a reason why movies are underscored with music, it enhances the emotional mood. Underscore your evening with romantic music! Create a playlist that captures the mood you want to distill into your significant other. You can use a waterproof speaker system, or a system outside of your hot tub. Just make sure that your mp3 device is protected from the water so that it won’t get ruined.
Romantic lighting can enhance your hot tub experience. If your spa already comes with LED mood lighting, use it. If not, you can get floating LED tea lights and a soft lamp to set the mood. Plan to get in the hot tub right at sunset for a romantic sunset, or after dark for dim lighting and a sexy evening.
Drinks and Food
Plan small and sexy finger foods for your hot tub excursion. Get a floating tray so that you don’t have to get in and out of the hot tub to get new treats. Chocolate covered strawberries, blueberries, and mini cheesecakes are a great idea. As for drinks, be careful with wine, as hot tubs and alcohol are dangerous when mixed. Sparkling cider is a good alternative, and then save the wine for the bedroom. Make sure that you get shatterproof glasses or else you may have broken glass in your spa.
Adding essential oils to your hot tub can also help set the mood. Add a couple of drops of your favorite scent to your water to help you and your significant other relax. Popular favorites are lemon, peppermint, geranium, lavender, and vanilla (not necessarily mixed).
