Spa Party Tips

One of the best things about a hot tub is using it for entertaining and hosting. If you’re ready for a special themed party around your hot tub, here are some ideas for an amazing girls’ spa night!

Step 1: Set the Mood

If you’re going for a relaxing spa environment, there are a few key elements that you need. First of all, thoughtful lighting. Low lighting will automatically create a more relaxing atmosphere, and it will also create a more intimate setting where it’s easy to talk to each other and share fun stories. Candlelight is always fun to work with in a spa atmosphere, but make sure that you have focused lighting on the areas where you actually need it. For example, if you have a mani/pedi station, you’ll want to see better over there. Also, consider lighting the snack/food area, and steps getting into and out of the hot tub itself.

Once you’ve worked out lighting, you can elevate the effect with some background music, and a healthy dose of aromatherapy. Whether you have a plug-in scent, scented candles, or you incorporate aromatherapy drops into your hot tub… the choice is yours! Consider eucalyptus for a clean, therapeutic smell, or a soft lavender/vanilla blend for a sweet, sleepy effect.

Step 2: Facials

After a good soak in the hot tub, your skin is primed for a face mask. By opening the pores and loosening set-in dirt, you’ve done half the work of the mask already, and you can get the maximum benefit from the active ingredients in the mask.

With facials, you have a couple choices. Either you can present some easy homemade masks, or you can buy enough for everyone from the store. Homemade facemasks can be made from avocado, oatmeal, or even egg. They’re not usually very expensive to make. Remember to have a few different options for masks, though, because different girls have different skincare needs.

Step 3: Beauty Bars

Now, although much of the party will be based around the spa, you obviously don’t want to spend the whole time out there. Set up a few stations around a secondary room where you can spend more time and enjoy each other’s company with the other benefits of a spa. Have a station or two for girls to give each other pedicures and manicures. The hot tub is also a great way to prime for those! Have some massage essentials on the side for if someone wants to get the benefit of a shoulder massage. This could include a massage chair, a back-roller, or even just those little soft tissue massage tools. So simple, but they feel so good!

During this time, you want everyone to be comfortable, so make sure that you have towels and bathrobes on hand for people who have come out of the hot tub so that they can continue to lounge in comfort.

Remember, you want to keep your hot tub clean throughout this process, so set up some rules about the hot tub itself. People should do pedicures and face masks AFTER soaking, not before. And certain snacks will be problematic, since they drip or crumble into the water.
